I found someone selling 7 used drives, dated July 2014, for $250.00...
That's roughly $35.70 per drive....

He is local to where I live and claims that he doesn't need them since he upgraded to larger drives. He also ran check disk and found no errors...

I'm hesitant because they are used..
But one thing I'm not sure about is if WD will warranty them since I'm not the original owner.
But they do have a manufactured stamped date of July 2014...

Thanks
Dave

That's only half off for used drives. Doesn't seem particularly compelling.

Of course, if they pass a proper burn-in, they're likely to hold out for a while.

That was my thought as well. WD reds, brand new, 2TB, are going for what, $80 or so now. $35.70 is half-ish of that. 7 drives in tip-top condition a few years old, I'd probably pay about $175.

Thanks.. I'm going to stick to my original $200.00 for the 7.. I checked and they do have 1 year left on the warranty...
Its nice the WD allows you to easily verify the warranty...

If he won't sell them for $200.00 I'll keep my eye out for something else.. I'm not in a huge hurry right now..
