Volume to volume backup

Hi, im new to Freenas.
I have the system running for a while now.
This is what i have:
Six 2tb hdd raid 0 connected directly to mainboard (sata) but i got worried and decided to get four 3tb hdd raid 0 as well, and I connected them by raid controller (eSata). So i have currently lot of info in the first volume that I want to backup to the new volume.
How can i do this? I don't want to loose any info. And I kind of want it automatically but not necessarily. And I don't wanna use windows. Is it possible?

Please confirm the following:

* You have *SIX* 2tb drives, all in a single volume, on RAID-0/STRIPE.
* You have *FOUR* 3tb drives, all in a single volume, on RAID-0/STRIPE, **via an eSATA multiplier**

Is that correct sir?

In the GUI, go to "shell". THis will open the FreeBSD command line. Then type

, and cut and paste the output, please, and also,

. Let us start with that.

If you really did what you said, then you have a very serious situation.

You don't have to apologize to us, you're the one whose data is at risk of being obliterated by the slightest issue with those drives.

If it has any value at all, you will have to try a different setup.

You are currently at risk of losing all your data if any of the disks in your RACNAS pool has a problem.

Fortunately, your recent scrub of RACNAS came up clean, and you have four brand new disks with no data on them (right?) Thankfully, it also appears that you did not set up hardware RAID for your BackUp pool.

What you need to do is:

1. Buy two 6TB disks and start saving up for four more.
2. Destroy your BackUp pool, marking the disks as new.
3. Install two 6TB disks.
4. Create a new pool from your four 3TB and two 6TB disks, choosing RAIDZ2 as the volume layout instead of stripe. You will have to choose manual volume creation because of the size mismatch.
5. Transfer your 7.69T of data from RACNAS to the new pool. This new pool will already be uncomfortably full (see #1 above).
6. Optionally, scrub the new pool.
7. Destroy your RACNAS pool, marking the disks as new.
8. Figure out what you want to do with the 2TB disks. If you want to create a reliable backup pool, you'll need more capacity.

While all this is going on, study all the stickies, hardware recommendations etc. in these forums to get a better handle on how to be successful with FreeNAS.

thanks a lot for all your replies. They are the best option, but unfortunately i can't afford any more drives right now.
Is there a solution with the drives I already have? I won't be adding more data any time soon.
I figure if I have the same data in two different Volumes will be hard (not impossible) that both volume will go bad at the same time.
I also have the option of putting the four 3TBs in another computer and use windows to have a duplicate of the NAS. But honestly I prefer if they were in the same unit.

1. Destroy BackUp and recreate as RAIDZ1.
2. Move all data from RACNAS to new pool. It will be TOO FULL.
3. Destroy RACNAS and recreate as RAIDZ1.
4. Spread data between the two pools.
5. Recognize that RAIDZ1 is significantly less reliable than RAIDZ2, and that neither is a substitute for having backups.
