This is probably me being a noob and not understanding things but here it goes. I have an Ubuntu VM set up in TrueNAS. It has it's own IP address, but I wanted it to get the one I assigned on the DHCP server. So I wanted to reset the Ubuntu 'wired connection' in the connection settings menu. As I disabled it, it immediately disconnected the VNC connection but I also lost the ability to connect to the server itself. I restarted the server, but when I tired to connect back into the VM, it disconnected everything again. So what am I missing? Does disabling the connection inside the VM also disable the TrueNAS NIC, or did I stumble upon a bug? I might be wrong, but I think I remember disabling the Ubuntu connection yesterday and everything was fine. I would also like to note, that the server seems fine when looking at the display output as in it still responds to input and there are no messages indicating anything is wrong

I once knew of an office that had contracted out printers, and the printer-monkey set up a printer on a static IP without consulting IT. Fun times.
