VM bhyve and Ubuntu 18.04

This was a fresh install in my case. Complained about not being able to write initramfs, then something about the UEFI db which, in bare metal systems, happens when SecureBoot gets in the way.

It’s possible that fresh install of 18.04.1 and upgrade to 18.04.1 behave differently?

Edit: 100% my fault. Lesson learned - Ubuntu is lean, it's not THAT lean. 256MB RAM isn't enough to even boot the system into the installer. 512MB is.

Hi Yorick, I see the same issue as you when trying to install Ubuntu Server 18.04.4 with VNC enabled (so UEFI):

Couldn't get size: 0x800000000000000e
MODSIGN: Couldn't get UEFI db list
Couldn't get size: 0x800000000000000e
Couldn't get size: 0x800000000000000e

My VM has 4GB RAM though, are you sure you didn't do anything else to make this work!
