Hi,

i am running 11.1 on a test rig besides my 9.3. rig.

Testing the VM function. I ve installed a VM with Windows 10 pro trying to run a DVB-S2 Sat card to provide IPTV in my network. The VM is running but i cant enroute the dvb device to the VM.

Is it planed to assign devices to the VMs? This would be very powerful and universal!

I'm assuming you mean PC Passthrough, yes there already is a feature request for it. It is supported in bhyve but isn't exposed in FreeNAS yet IIRC.

The priority of FreeNAS has always been a file server first. Bhyve is still relatively new to FreeNAS and the development and integration of features takes time (you're welcome to contribute to the github repo). If virtualization is the goal, I strongly suggest using VMware ESXI.

PCI passthrough hasn't been ignored. It's on the backburner because the devs don't want to let people pass through any random PCI device, since that can cause nasty situations like trying to pass through the host's NIC.
