Virtualize FreeNAS

I want to use my old gaming computer which is still decent I5 with 16gb RAM. I want to use this as HTPC, so I want to Run Windows 8 on SSD Drive and then run FreeNAS virtualized as i have 5 x 3TB HDD zfs raid-5 atm.

I was thinking giving FreeNAS 12gb RAM to play with as windows only needs 4gb.

what do you think?
