View system log

Hi,

How do I read TrueNAS Core logs? I found some real old posts referring to directories that don't exist on my NAS. The latest documentation shows using the Gear button on the UI page. But my system has no Logs in that drop down. So I guess it's time to ask you guys for an up to date method to read the log. Do I need to set up a service for logs to exist?

The reason I am looking for logs is my root user password changed unexpectedly. I restored it on the server console but would like to see what happened. I am new to Truenas and I was messing around yesterday so I would expect it is my fault.
