TrueNAS crash - logs

Hello,

we transfered files to the TrueNAS (12.0) and during this process the system crashed and went down.
Not sure how to analyze this issue. Checked the /var/log/messages, but the log rolled over and I am not able to see log entries during the crash.

What can we do to find out what happened? Any other logs I should check?

Regards

What can we do to find out what happened?
You could start by telling us what your hardware is. (see Forum Rules above)

I would expect we will find you're using a non-Intel NIC, which is why the driver (probably Realtek) is causing a Kernel panic under heavy load.

It may be other things, but with no further information on your setup, nothing else to suggest for now.

Under /var/log (translates path to /var/db/system/syslog-2fa742ae30da433ca735af52bcb65edb/log) you'll find that messages is archived as .bz2 when rolled over if you think you'll learn something by looking at older logs.

OK, so how are you attaching the drives? Via the Motherboard SATA?

If that's the case, I suspect we need to look into your case and airflow as it may be overheating of the SATA controller chip.
