I have two TrueNAS machines- one (the primary) is replicating to a second (the backup). The replication seems to be performing successfully, however I would like to verify the snapshots are valid. I read in a previous post that on the backup machine, I could go to "snapshots," pick a snapshot, and "clone to new dataset." When I do this, I get an error saying the file-system is read-only.
Indeed, it is read-only when I look at the dataset's properties. Is there any harm in turning-off read-only on the dataset to temporarily clone the snapshot to a new data set?
If the clone is successful, I'll mark the system read-only again but I don't want to cause issues with the replication.
