username limited to 8 chars, regardless?

I set up a SMB share, and wanted to use a particular username that I've always used for SMB shares. The web UI drops the last character when it prepopulates the username from the full name, but I made sure to add it back in. I triple checked it to make sure. In the Web UI, it's the 9 character filename.

I have to use the 8 character truncated name to log in via SMB.

Which version of SCALE you are running? I tried to reproduce this; I can see the UI truncation when I added the user, but then I added the additional characters back in as you described, and it did save with the full username.

Does it show the full username in the users list?
