USB stick / CAM status: CCB request completed with an error

Not sure which category to use for this but here goes:

Using FreeNAS-9.10-STABLE-201605021851

I received a "daily security run output" email saying this:

No sure what's going on here?

I think it's referring to the USB stick running FreeNAS so I'm a little worried.

It refers to two SCSI devices.

USB mass storage is presented to the OS as SCSI, so it could very well be the boot device(s). However, it's hard to say anything specific with so little data.

How can I provide additional relevant data?

camcontrol devlist would be useful, as would a description of the system's storage layout (including boot devices)...

The system layout is as follow:

Boot is two mirrored USB sticks: http://grab.by/Qmja

Storage is two pools :

• First pools is 4 X 4TB drives in stripped mirrors, with 1 SSD drive for logs and 1 SSD drive for cache : http://grab.by/Qmjk
  
• Second pool is just one drive that's there to be used as a local RSYNC backup and could also be used as spare : http://grab.by/Qmjy

Ok, so your boot devices may be crapping out or it might've been a weird USB controller issue.

How do I know if my boot devices should be replaced?

Well, I'd run a scrub, see if there are any errors and just generally keep an eye on them.

Well I manually started a scrub yesterday.
I'm not sure how to read the results?
I did not get any email concerning that.

I was trying to read the documentation : https://doc.freenas.org/9.3/freenas_system.html#boot
But I can't find where I can see the results of the scrub...

The only thing I can see in the GUI is this:

Boot Volume Condition: HEALTHY
Last Scrub Run on: Wed May 25 00:22:35 2016

So I'm not sure if there's something I should be doing at this point?

The only thing I can see in the GUI is this:

That's the result of the scrub. If problems were found, that's where it would tell you (and, if email notifications are set up properly, it will notify you as well).

I had the exact same problem with essentially the same setup. I have the same posted message

CCB request completed with an error

on one of my mirrored USB boot drives. Ran a scrub and and the condition came back as Healthy.

Curious to know what came out of your setup, did you end up replacing the USB drives?

Nope... I have two mirrored USB drives... I couldn't find the one that was faulty, if there is one that is faulty.

So I just let that be for now....
