I hear (almost) nothing but good things about Freenas 11.00 so I decided to perform the upgrade (from 9.10). And of course that's when I received an email from my Freenas box that the freenas.boot pool was degraded. One of the mirrored USB sticks has died on me. Oh well it happens. I have a small Intell SSD lying around, gathering dust, so I have decided to do away with the usb sticks and use the SSD as boot device.
Normally I would just save my current config, reinstall Freenas on the SSD and upload the saved config file. But will that work by saving a 9.10 config file and then upload it to a fresh installed Freenas 11?
Or should I just perform an upgrade first (Ignoring the fact that the boot pool is degraded) and then save the new config for a reinstall on the SSD?
