I am running 11.1-Release on an 8G USB, and I am running out of room.
Just bought a 32G and want to move it over..
It looks like i just need to install 11.1-Release on the new USB and upload the config.db in to it..
is it really that simple? nothing I need to get from the jails?

Thanks

You should use the backup option from the gui and restore to the fresh install after the rebuild.

Jails and all other pools will be fine after the restore (ignore any errors displayed until after the config restore).

You can also just add the new drive as a mirror to the original.
After it has finished the resilver, you can split the old drive out of the mirror.

I cannot find the ability to mirror in the new GUI for 11.1, in the old GUI, I can go to system boot and select freenas-boot, and attach the new USB, but nothing happens....
it does go into a "please wait..." It then says the disk is successfully attached, but only the old USB (da6) is listed under stripe... not the new da7.

Also, the zpool status does not indicate any resilvering was done...
Code:
# zpool status
  pool: freenas-boot
 state: ONLINE
  scan: scrub repaired 0 in 0 days 00:04:43 with 0 errors on Tue May 8 03:49:43 2018
config:

		NAME STATE READ WRITE CKSUM
		freenas-boot ONLINE 0 0 0
		  gptid/06eb268b-8db6-11e4-90c3-d050995afb58 ONLINE 0 0 0

errors: No known data errors

From the CLI, the only commands I can find to mirror the boot drives do not work:
boot pool attach_disk da7
from https://forums.freenas.org/index.php?threads/mirror-boot-device.49914/#post-343659

any thoughts as to where I am going wrong?

Thanks

Sounds like a bug in the GUI. You might want to submit a bug report.

If someone else does not point you to the syntax for the command line, I will when I get home.
I think it is an add, not as attach.

There is a bug for this already, and will be fixed in 11.2
https://redmine.ixsystems.com/issues/29277

it also showed the command syntax for the CLI
zpool attach freenas-boot gptid/6bc5cedd-6627-11e5-a5a5-d050995b1314 da1p2

thank you for your help!
