Just build my first FreeNAS and got it running like it should for a few days now. I need some suggestion what board I could replace it with that support LGA1155 CPU I currently have. I do want link aggravation, and adding 4 additional drives so some supermicro board comes with 3 Nics and 8 port sata that would saves me from buying additional SAS controller and dual NIC for current setup. I do have 6x8GB ECC Registered 1333 rams that I could use or 6x16GB ECC PC8500. Let me know what do you guys recommends.

I'll be using the NAS mainly for Documents, RAW images for Lightroom/Photoshop editing from the NAS and running NextCloud.
Just myself using the NAS, I do want to improve transfer rate greater than 100mbps tho.

Server Specs:
  • Mobo: Intel DH67GD - BTGD1200025Q
  • CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-2400 CPU @ 3.10GHz LGA1155
  • 16GB DDR3 Non-ECC
  • 380W Antec 80 Plus
  • 3x2TB WD Green
  • 1x3TB Hitachi
  • 1x2TB WD Green (backup)
  • on 4 disks Raidz2
  • 65GB SSD Cached
  • 8GB FreeOSD Boot USB
Client Specs:
  • Asus Sabortooth X56 I7 920
  • 20GB DDR3 1600MHz
  • 500GB SSD Samsung EVO
  • 2TB WD Blue
  • Realtek NIC
Network Specs:
  • Cox Modem
  • Asus RT68 Router
  • Cisco Catalyst 3750x 24p Switch
  • Fully Cat 6 Media run through the house.
Here are some iPerf test on Realtek NIC and on my Laptop with Intel does shows 1.10Gbytes

Too much expenses for Chrismas, so I'll hold off on getting the board and CPU now.
But are shopping for deals if anyone see any great deal on these let me know!
So far my nas runs great with new Cat6 drops, I may need to pick up some cheap intel nic too if you guys found some cheap ones.

Merry Chrismas everyone.
