Upgrading from Freenas 9.1.1

Hi Folks,

I have been running Freenas 9.1.1 for years without upgrading. Thanks to our lockdown I now have some time to dedicate to upgrading to hopefully the latest version. Freenas is currently running of USB and has worked without incident. I understand there have been many versions since 9.1.1 but I would like to understand what is the best upgrade path. Can I go from 9.1.1 to say 10 or 11 or is best to do it in smaller increments say 9.1.1 to 9.2 etc? I'm running 32bit hardware at the moment.

Any advice is appreciated.

I would like to understand what is the best upgrade path.

1. 9.1-U7 -> 9.2-U8
2. Convert any Warden jails to iocage jails before continuing.
3. 9.2-U8 > 11.3-U5
4. 11.3-u5 -> 12.0-U4.1 or later.

I'm running 32bit hardware at the moment.
