I have not updated my FreeNAS box since the web-ui updater seemed to break on my system, now I need jails again so just isolating the NAS from the internet as an alternative to keeping up to date wont work anymore.
What special considerations do I need to make when making such a large version jump? Any reasons I might need to first upgrade to some intermediate version?
I have read the thread about GELI encryption and although I believe I will not be affected since the system dataset is on the unencrypted freenas-boot volume I will be taking the necessary precautions.
