Hey guys, just looking for advice on moving from 11.1 to 11.3-U4.1. Are there any things I need to be aware of? Its nothing be a few SMB shares and iSCSI targets for VMware.

Its is a VM running on the host it serves (minus a datastore for the bootstrapping a few services) with a proper passthrough HBA.

should be ok...it could take a bit depending on what you are using as boot media...:)

Boot media is backed by a VMDK on a sata ssd. I'm mostly concerned about the config importing smoothly and maintaining my iSCSI volume IDs and things like that.

not that exact one..but i did a v9 to v11 upgrade which is far more intense...make a backup onf the configuration...you aren't going to loose any data off the drives...if you REALLY are concerned then make a full backup of the pool as well...then do the upgrade.
