Updating LSI drivers on FreeNAS 11.2-RELEASE

Hi all-

I'm running FreeNAS 11.2-RELEASE with an LSI SAS 9300-8i card behind 8 10TB WD drives in RAIDZ2 configuration. I have been experiencing a variety of random and intermittent checksum errors on different drives causing my array to DEGRADE, and realized the LSI card had horribly outdated firmware. I flashed the card from firmware v11 to v16 and things got a lot more stable, but I'm still seeing the errors, just less frequently. The drives are brand new, so I'm scratching my head a bit.

I noticed that FreeNAS 11.2 has v18.00.00.00 of the LSI driver installed, but there's a v20.00.00.00 available for FreeBSD on the Broadcom website. I'd love to try this newer driver to see if it helps, but installing drivers is not something I've ever done on FreeBSD. Is that even possible on FreeNAS?

Thanks in advance,
Darren
