Yes, a very old system that has been working well. However, I've only just noticed that ZFS snapshots are no longer available via the Windows Previous Versions feature. They used to work and I suspect they stopped working when I upgraded to Windows 10 many months ago. I have enabled the "SMB 1.0/CIFS Client".
I'm now considering an upgrade. I'm only using CIFS and Rsync. No plugins. I'd really like to get the Previous Versions working again with Windows 10.
Can anyone say what the minimum FreeNAS version might be that would support that? Would it be recommended to upgrade beyond that? If so, to what version? Can I upgrade keeping my saved config, or do I need to note everything down and redo the settings from scratch? Any 'gotchas' I should consider before starting?
Any advice would be appreciated. I haven't been keeping up with goings-on with FreeNAS. My server has just been happily chugging away in a corner for years now.
Thanks for your time.
