Updating a jail migrated successfully from warden to iocage

I had an old Transmission plugin install that I migrated from warden to Iocage via the script. Everything has moved correctly. How should I update Transmission? pkg does not see it.

What does pkg see?

Also, do you get a specific error when you try to upgrade or reinstall transmission? If so, please list the command you used as well as the output.

PKG cannot see Transmission, because the plugin had it installed as a pbi. Transmission isn't installed as far as pkg is concerned.

I gave up and blew everything away and manually built an iocage jail and transmission installation.

Those links contain lots of discussion about the migration script not working correctly. I was hoping we had a tutorial relating to the finished *working* script. Nothing mentioned about using the script in the documentation I could see.

Bottom line.

migrate_warden.py -v -j <WARDEN> -p <POOL>

That works, and it's already baked into 11.2-RELEASE. Just go to the shell of your FreeNAS server and run it replacing <WARDEN> with the name of your old jail, and <POOL> with the name of the pool you activated IOCage on. Worked fine in both cases. Just shut down your original jails and disable them from autostarting before running the command.

Hope that settles confusion for others.
