Hi, updated to 13.0-U1 from 13.
After the update, same hardware, im not able to connect.
Console seems to connect at first, even loads the login screen, but fails after a couple of seconds.
ICMP is unstable and slow (5% responses...10/25ms)
No errors in console or message log, connecting through console.

Any guidance on where to look? clean reinstall?

Please provide the HW details of your TrueNAS box, according to the Forum Rules.

Both your onboard and NX1101 NICs use Realtek PHYs. TrueNAS is known not to have stability with Realtek PHYs, because most manufacturers cheap out and use crippled PHYs, expecting the Windows driver to have the CPU make up the difference. You'll need to switch to a different NIC. TrueNAS has good stability with Intel 1000/PRO NICs.

Thanks for your support @Samuel Tai. I'll check the intel 1000/Pro Nics

BTW, I don't understand why it worked fine with other previous versions (11/12/13.0) and an update makes it stop working.
I have the feeling that the blame with Truenas always falls on my components and it is never a Truenas fault.

Thanks again, I'll try your solution.

Not disagreeing - Intel 1000 is always a solid choice - just curious. How do you know they use a Realtek PHY?

I would have guessed Marvell and Mediatek.

Update:
Bought an Intel 1000, install it and tested. under 13.0 U1-> Problems persists.
Rollback to 13.0 -> Problems dissapeared.

Do you have VMs or jails running? If so, does it remain stable if those are set not to start at boot?

I am surprised that this happens going from 13 to -U1.

No Vms, no Jails, just SMB shares.

Logon to console, use ifconfig, netstat, tcpdump ... to debug. Difficult to say with text conversation via forum.

What does ifconfig -a say for a start?

Rolled back, and I will wait for a stable version.
That's fair enough - if you aren't interested in troubleshooting, you don't have to.

But I don't think this is a currently-known problem with TrueNAS.

So if there's a unique issue with your system, waiting may not help.

And if you've found a bug in TrueNAS, troubleshooting may help resolve it for both you AND others.

Hi @Volts
Please don't think I'm being selfish by not sharing additional information, but at this time this is no longer possible.
I have spent several hours and a few dollars trying to solve an issue on a U1 version with no success. Believe me, I tried my best.

If I had fixed it, I would have shared the solution. But I guess I couldn't spend any more time having my systems down, my rollback window closed. No configuration changes on my side, no hardware changes on my side... no changes at all on my side, just a version update.

I'm sorry, at the moment I can't install back a version that doesn't work for me to troubleshoot it.

Sincerely, I appreciate your help and that all of you are keeping this community running.
