But i am getting the message 'Unknown command' or something similar.

Which build version of FreeNAS (from System -> Information)?

How did you try to get into the shell, by clicking the Shell icon?

What is the exact build version? And, what is the exact error message?

apt-get is a Debian/Ubuntu tool and doesn't exist on FreeBSD and therefore doesn't exist on FreeNAS, either, because FreeNAS is based on FreeBSD.

And what command do i use then?
The roughly analogous FreeBSD program is the 'pkg' system. But it looks like you're wanting to tinker with your network stack to try and get WOL working, and that may not be a good idea on FreeNAS. You may break the server's networking and have an unusable system.

Did you search the forum (and the web) for WOL support specifically for FreeNAS/FreeBSD?

You don't as any additional software needs to be installed in a jail, not the base system. WOL on FreeBSD/FreeNAS is either supported by the NIC's driver or it is not.

Then i assume that it is not supported by the NIC.
Which i find very strange because according to Gigabyte it is capable of WoL.
And i have bought myself another NIC, a TP-Link TG-3468 which is also capable of WoL support.
But after installing that card in the machine, after the first boot up, the card doesn't show up anymore.
I mean, after the second boot up, i must disengage the networkcable from the card en plug it in the onboard NIC.

Hardware specs? Intel NICs are really the only way to go.

Though the Intel Pro/1000 GT is also available in PCI-E with the brand HP.

So the card has arrived, installed, but still no WoL .
What's next...?
What's the MAC-adress, where can i find it?
With Fing on it, it is not possible to find the PC with FreeNAS on it.

ifconfig from the command line will display the MAC address.

Did you disable your onboard NIC, remove your TP-Link NIC, and configure FreeNAS to use the new Intel NIC?

What's the MAC-adress, where can i find it?

Another problem: the network is not available.
I've had it with this bullshit.
The problem is that i got a lot of downloaded stuff on the hard drives which is now gone.

Easy partner... I think that you are just frustrated. Not sure how the "stuff on the hard drives" could be gone; unless you did something unorthodox.

Slow down a bit and perhaps look over the Manual or search a bit on these forums. I don't know your level of experience, but can pretty much say you are not in "uncharted waters" here. There is a vast amount of experienced contributors that are ready and willing to help.

Just take it slow if you are all new to this. :)

Yes, my experience is pretty low.:(
But it looks like that the NIC is not being recognized by the system despite the fact that in the BIOS the onboard NIC is disabled.
Yes of course i know that by enabling the onboard NIC the drives are back but still no WoL.
Which is very important to me.
Perhaps in the Console Setup?

Keep the onboard NIC disabled.

On bootup, at the Console Setup menu, select option #1 to configure your Intel NIC. It's probably em0. Delete the other (old) interfaces.
