Understanding the system dataset-Questions

I finaly got everything in place after RMA:ing a drive. And I realised that I have to asign some where to sore the system dataset. The 2 options I have are of course the Mail zsf pool and the boot drive. From what I understand, boot drive is a bad idea , especially if it is not redundant, which mine is not. Is this correct? What else do i need to knoe abot the system dataset?

put your system dataset on your main pool. This is the default configuration and best practices.

Unless you're replacing your pool (not just a disk in your pool)

Then you might want to temporarily move the system dataset to the boot drive and back later
