Hello,
I need to install FreeNas 8 on an old HP Proliant DL360 G3 server. I booted the FreeNAS-8.0-RELEASE-i386.iso but after a while the machine hangs completly. So it's impossible to complete the installation. A screenshot is attached.
Can sombody help me? Sorry for my english.

Uwe

Hello,
I just tested the FreeNAS-i386-LiveCD-0.7.2.6694.iso, it boots without problems.
But I would prefer to use V 8.

Does this mean, it's impossible to install FreeNAS 8 on standard hardware like DL360 G3?

Yes, I already tried this, I also tried with APIC diabled in the BIOS.

Same problem...

Exactly the same problem here.
Tried many setup options "Other OS", Safe Mode, No ACPI etc.etc. nothing works.

** SOLVED ** Unable to install HP DL380 G3

Hello again
I just solved the problem with installation.
I used Version 8.0.3 of FreeNAS via iLO Virtual CDROM Remote Installation to do the installation. This was stopping always at the usb devices and the machine hangs.
The trick is to disable in the BIOS the Virtual Media in Advanced Options and to boot FreeNAS Installation without ACPI.
Then the installation starts on the DL380.

After FreeBSD is installed you need to disable the HP PCI USB Controller in the BIOS so that FreeNAS will boot on this Hardware.
