Unable to access host mounts when using OpenVPN

I am just getting started with TrueNAS Scale, I have been trying to configure qbitorrent with OpenVPN but every time I enable openvpn, I lose access to the host path and can no longer save files to a path accessible by other applications. I tried a transmission container as well and it had the same issue. Just wondering if anyone had any tip on how to make sure you can mount a path to your dataset when using OpenVPN in a container/app?
