Hi Folks,
Super crazy upgrade gremlins this time around - in addition to the SMB bug others are discussing that knocked my shares offline this update managed to temporarily lose a hard drive... Any thoughts on this one? Apologies in advance I'm a bit of a noob, and I know I stuck my neck out a wee bit on a Ryzen build but I tried do my homework & have been running about 4 months without a hitch....
After update my array showed degraded status with one drive unavailable - no other errors so I tried a couple of reboots & saw the drive was showing up in the POST report, but freenas couldn't see it... Did a full shutdown & cable check just in case (no joy), so I ordered a replacement drive & tried to get back to work to find my shares unavailable. Rolled back to U2 which fixed shares, then restarted again and magically my drive was back. After a brief resilver my pool is 100% back to normal...
I'm not feeling like a second attempt but any thoughts?
