If I tell you to statically configure a default gateway and you decide to configure a static /24 route instead - how on earth should I anticipate that? I am sorry for the trouble this has caused for you but I really don't have much else to say.

You can TELL people all you want but that's not helping them when you make them feel like you are a high and mighty god and they know nothing.
You finally shared this after saying 'I told you' way too many times. This was the simple answer.

Set the default gateway, not static route for a /24.
To move from DHCP to static configuration:
1. In Network > General Configuration set default gateway and DNS server statically and save.
2. In Network > Interfaces > <your interface> remove DHCP and set the IP address.

Instead, before saying the above, you said;
>First set your default gateway and DNS server, then change your IP address to static, then add your second IP address.
>What precisely do you expect? There is no other method but using the UI one step at a time.

Because of your tone, I ended up getting nervous and thought I needed to add a static route so did that and broke everything for a while.
When you talk down to people in this way, they can easily start making mistakes.

People like you simply don't seem to understand or care how you treat others. You just constantly want to point out that you know the answer but they don't and should somehow. Go re-read the mess we've left behind but I'm guessing instead you'll just berate me further to show me how you told me and I didn't listen.

Yeesh.

And by the way, thank you. As I said, it works so at least I can finally move on to what I needed to get done.
