I have two instances showing in network. One is named LAST NAME - SERVER and it works correctly. The other is named FREENAS SERVER. I cannot access it. I just want to remove it as it is not needed. Any ideas why it is here and how I can remove it? Also, I bet somewhere there is a thread explaining what services and windows features for Windows 10 machines need to be off/on or running/not running. Please point me in the correct direction if it does exist. The FREENAS SERVER says my DNS server might be unavailable whatever that means... This is the one I want to remove.

Thanks,
Tim

Tim, you are going to need to be more specific, maybe a screen capture?. You also have not provided any details about your setup and any jails/plugins you have running. It's tuff to take a stab at something like this when we have no clue how your system is setup.

Did you just setup this system, you have been a member since 2015 so I'd think you have been up and running for quite a while by now. Also you need to provide details about the FreeNAS version you are running per the forum rules. I'm not sure if I will be able to help you but someone might. I say this because I don't play on the computer after a long day at work on a computer, it's not much fun but I do like to pop in and try to offer some quick advice where I can.

Cheers,
Joe

Yes I have had a freenas box up and running for about 3 years. I was running 9.3 I think with no issues. I don't have any jail, plugins or anything. It only serves a couple purposes. It's a file server for my home and a secondary backup of all the computers in the home. I did not experience this till 11.1 upgrade. I joined in 2015 to get info when learning the freenas system. I apologize for not knowing to be more specific. I will try to get some screenshots and post as well.

Thank you,
Tim
