Hello,

I have a ZFS raid1 setup on my N54L.

I have FreeNAS installed and have setup my Windows Shares.

I have 2 at the moment.
That all works fine, how ever an photo editing software that I use shows a lock next to the photos. When I look at the permissions for the file I do not have the modify permission, is it possible to get this?
Basically I want anyone on the network to be able to access every file and share, no password needed.
I am currently using UNIX permissions on the volume and CIFS is set to Local User.

As well as that, on a client sided level I can't edit permissions for files, it gives me an access denied message for that.

How do I fix these issues?

Set all to read/write/execute. You do it under storage/volume

Moving this to the SHARING forum because CIFS shares are not a plugin

Thanks Pirateghost
I believe that is already set, have a look at the photo.

I have tried Windows ACL but when I do none of the computers can access any of the shared folders.

gbiggs: When it comes to permissions issues there's so many ways to get it wrong you aren't likely to get it resolved here. Your best bet is to use Google to learn how permissions work and apply it to your situation.

The more senior guys(including myself) blindly ignore permissions issue threads because its just not something that can be easily troubleshot or fixed via forum setting.

What you are asking for help on is like someone asking "how do I build a car?" There's no way someone can realistically give you that knowledge in a forum setting let alone help you if something goes wrong.
