Have used the same TrueNAS-12.0-U8 USB stick to trial install on several other pc's one a laptop, but wanted to install on newer hardware.
The PC is a Gateway SX2865 EFI .
Install gets to the frame buffer and ends at
masks 0x00ff0000, 0x0000ff00, 0x000000ff, 0xff000000
and never goes any further.

Oh and by the way the box had Win10 originally, i have Linux Mint 20.3 installed now and runs perfectly and no issue installing it.

I would make certain you have the latest bios installed. Also, your hardware description does not mention how much memory the system has, but if you don't have at least 8 GB RAM then you are wasting your time.

This is an old machine that may have hardware which is not supported by FreeBSD - the underlying OS for TrueNAS. You might be better off staying with a solution that runs on Windows or Linux.

Wouldn't think that it is not capable of running it, the laptop i installed on is 8 years older than this.
It's an Intel Dual core SandyBridge 2.7Ghz with 6GB DDR3 and SSD HD, surely it is capable of running TN.

Then you don't know much about FreeBSD. Stick with Windows or Linux. They are more forgiving about old hardware.

You might try TrueNAS scale, which is based on a Linux distribution.

Good luck.

Perfect, Scale is loading as I write this.
Thanks, seems to be the ticket.
