TrueNAS PC configure network to Windows 10 PC though ethernet

Hello,

I have installed TrueNAS to an old Dell PC that I bought. I want to connect that PC to my windows 10 via ethernet cable. I am having issues configuring what looks to be the Windows side. I have set up the network interface settings and have the HTTP and HTTPS links shown to me on the nas computer.

My question is, how do I configure the ethernet network settings on Windows to allow me to connect to the Web UI?

Right now, the IP address is a temp number I set for the picture because I would rather not share what my address is. I have tried making it the same and different as the IP4 number I entered in on my nas machine.

Right now, the "Autoconfiguration IPv4" in blue is the same as my nas machine’s. It is the number I entered in place of 101.101.101.101 in the IP4 properties window. The red color is a different number that is apart of the Internet Assigned Numbers Authority (IANA) organization when I look it up.

When I ping the blue number, I get General failure. When I ping the red number I get Request timed out.

Thank you for the help,

Armstta

EDIT:

I solved my issue. I used the reg edit to disable Windows creating the first autoconfiguration ip. I also switched the ip of the Ethernet on my Windows 10 PC because the NAS machine was giving me errors.

I'm having a hard time following what's going on here with the Crayola markup, sorry. If you're using RFC 1918 internal NAT IP addresses (eg: 10.0.x.x, 172.16.x.x, 192.168.x.x) then please just post those. They aren't Internet routable and no one can do anything with them.

All you need to do is hook your Windows 10 and TrueNAS machine to the same network. TrueNAS by default will pick up a dynamic IP from your DHCP server (probably a home router) and you'll navigate to that.

Hello,

I am trying to connect my nas directly to my Windows PC via ethernet and not to my router. My Windows PC is connected to the internet. I have tried disabling all the connects except the ethernet cable to the nas machine.
