I am trying to install TrueNAS on a SuperMicro X8SIL-F motherboard with an Intel I3-540 and 8GB of RAM.

I have 2 SATA 1TB drives that I have setup in the bios as Raid 1 (mirror)

When the TrueNAS 12.07 installer (booting off of a USB stick) gets to the TrueNAS Boot Mode screen I see a message on the screen "<GEOM_RAID: Intel-e840d79f: Array Intel-e840d79f destroyed." And I cannot install on the mirrored drives as they are no longer mirrored.

These are not the data drives, I am trying to install TrueNAS on to a mirrored pair of drives for the operating system.

Does anyone have any ideas?

I got TrueNAS 12.07 to mirror the boot drive by deleting the motherboard raid, setting the motherboard sata control to AHCI for both drives and reinstalling TrueNAS 12.07 and selecting both drives.

The zpool status command shows the following:

root@truenas[~]# zpool status
pool: boot-pool
state: ONLINE
config:

NAME STATE READ WRITE CKSUM
boot-pool ONLINE 0 0 0
mirror-0 ONLINE 0 0 0
ada0p2 ONLINE 0 0 0
ada1p2 ONLINE 0 0 0

errors: No known data errors

I assume from this that the boot drive is mirrored.

Why on earth are you trying to install something that doesn't take more than 16 GB on a mirrored pair of 1 TB drives? But to your question, what Jailer said--let TrueNAS handle the mirror itself.
