Hey there,

Im new to FreeNAS but I wanted to setup a new Dell R720 as a NAS machine. I created a bootable USB of the Live ISO and I see FreeBSD try to start but when it gets to here it just hangs.

Code:
mpt0: <LSILogic SAS/SATA Adapter> port........
mpt0: [ITHREAD]
mpt0: softreset failed: device not running
NMI ISA 20, EISA ff
NMI ... going to debugger
[thread pid 0 tid 100000]
stopped at DELAY+0x64: shlq $0x20,%rdx
db>

At this point the machine is locked up and I have to use power button to reboot. Ive been searching but have not fond anything that helped yet. Any thoughts?

The 720 has a PERC h710 Raid controller if that helps.

it seems that freenas/freebsd is having problems with that raid controller.

try disabling/removing the raid controller first then download and install a proper freebsd driver then re-enable the raid controller.
