I've gotten this working with pfsense+transmission before.

did you do TCP and UDP?
also, maybe stop+start transmission so it can retest the port. an external port checking site would be a good way to verify.

ok, in pfsense, reload firewall rule... How you setup NAT rule and firewall rule on WAN side and LAN side?

Watching this thread.

This is the very reason I gave up on pfsense, I couldn't get the ports forwarded to my jails.

it worked for me. I made the NAT rule and an rule is automatically made to open the port on the WAN interface.

Did you have to set up a static IP in pfsense with your jail IP or did it just work with the IP assigned by freenas when you set up the rule?

I didn't set up a static IP for my freenas jails.

####

I just installed a transmission jail.
The port was immediately open (I have UPnP enabled for my whole network)

(1)

####

To make sure it works with manual port forwarding I disabled the transmission option "Use port forwarding from my router" and cleared the UPnP rule in pfSense above.
I then made the NAT Port Forward pictured...
(2)
which automatically opened the port on the WAN interface as pictured..
(3)
Tested with an external checker just to make sure it wasn't transmission just remembering it was open..
(4)

####

So it worked for me, both using UPnP and manual port forwarding
