Time Machine - not Lion related

I'm experimenting with a FreeNAS 7.2 server as well as a 8.0 server. I setup a share on both as AFP Time Machine shares. All my Macs see the 7.2 share but none see the 8.0 share. Other shares on both are seen.

I really want to wrap up testing and I really want to use 8.0 (since it appears to be the long term solution) but this is a stumbling block. As anyone else seen this and overcame it?

8.0 has a bug with Time Machine, try 8.0.1-BETA4

It basically works. Since a section in the in the zeroconf config as documented here: http://support.freenas.org/ticket/392#comment:5 is missing the TM-drive doesn't "advertise" itself to 10.6. So it is necessary that you mount the TM drive first and then you can chose the drive from the TM preferences pane.
