So I plan on giving FreeNAS a shot... In my lab I currently run ESXi.

I have a Dell R620 & Dell R420 in a cluster. I has a QNAP NAS that I host all my media on but would like to get rid of that and use FreeNAS for all my media. I want to go the 24/36 bay route and have thought of running the following:

iStarUSA Case w/ PS - EX4M24 [ $900]
Motherboard w/ RAM and CPU's - Intel S2600CP2J Motherboard w/ Dual E5-2670 SR0KX , 128Gb. PC3L 10600R [$450]
NIC - Intel Ethernet Server Adapter X520-DA2 w/Intel Hologram [$70]

Now I just need help with the most efficent way to go on the HBA...

LSI Avago Logic 9201-16i x1 [$290]
LSI Avago Logic 9211-8i x1 [$81]

or

just 3 of 9211-8i? What HBA cards would you go with? Something different?

Am I missing anything else? Build totals [$1,800] I have some HDD already but will buy more as well. I plan on running RAID10, Some SSD Pools and SSD Cache.
