I am interested in a UPS that works fine with FreeNAS from the alerts point of view and connectivity. Any opinion from a tested solution?

Best way is to check in the list of the upses provided by nut in the freenas interface.
Ablerex usb is supported as well. :P as well as some mustek and socomec. The secret is to read nut's compatibility list and map it to what currently you have available in your country.

Alberex VT PRO 1500 it's not supported. The best i can think of is EATON Ellipse ECO 800VA USB. It's fully supported and available in my country ... kind of expensive ...

Have you tried? What is the output of upsc ups after you properly configured the port?
What driver have you selected?
