I'm on TrueNAS-SCALE-22.02.1.
[ The pool in question consists of 6x4TB WD40EFRX ]

After a reboot today, the server kicked out a DEGRADED pool warning:

  • Pool optimus state is DEGRADED: One or more devices could not be used because the label is missing or invalid. Sufficient replicas exist for the pool to continue functioning in a degraded state.
The following devices are not healthy:
    • Disk 5791112622561353785 is UNAVAIL

A missing label sounds like maybe something that can be corrected rather than bad hardware? Is there a process I can try to keep using this disk? Or, should I just throw it away and replace? (I have a few replacements on site and ready if needed.) I don't think the drive in question is a year old yet...

I was reading about a "replace" process to resilver onto that old drive. But, all of those examples included a tidy reference to the old drive (like /dev/sdf). But, mine shows a much different reference:

Never mind. I decided to just replace the drive with a new one because the sketchy one is still under warranty and I can just RMA it.

Easy process. So, it's resilvering now.
