This concerns the 9.10/ FN11 installation. Can someone give me a quick and dirty explanation on the difference between.

Using the shell and #iohyve to setup a vm
Using the shell and #bhyve to setup a vm
Using the VM menu link to setup a vm

What is the recommended way?

All three will do the trick and none is recommended over the other. In other words, use whichever one you are comfortable with. Currently, the CLI ones have more options available than the UI and their options (from their man pages/help) differ somewhat.

So they are 3 separate things? I kinda thought the vm part in gui would be graphically represent behyve.

When the next version update comes to 9.10.4 or whatever will I loose anything from it have will they all be maintained?

They are all the same thing, but different tools. bhyve is the base, iohyve is a CLI front-end to bhyve, and VMs is a GUI front-end to iohyve.

Awesome, will my vm created in iohyve at some point show up in the gui?

Good question. I would assume so, similar to how installed Plugins also show up in the Jails UI so that you can manage them.

Cool. Thanks. I am coming from Corral so I am not too familiar with 9.10. But the upgrade from Corral to 9.10 went quite smoothly
