After completed install of TrueNas on a SSD and upon reboot and removal of boot media, all I'm left with is a black screen and a blinking cursor. I've installed multiple times and the same issue every time. Motherboard is NOT UEFI. I'm in need of desparate help of kind and it would be humbly appreciated.

Please provide the details of your hardware, per the Forum Rules. UEFI is pretty much mandatory for recent versions of the TrueNAS bootloader. You could try installing FreeNAS 11.1, which still uses GRUB, and may be able to boot your hardware. If that works, you could try upgrading within the FreeNAS GUI to TrueNAS 12. However, a better option would be to use UEFI hardware to begin with.

Can't TrueNAS use a standard gptzfsboot, anymore? All my systems are UEFI but legacy boot is generally not an issue for FreeBSD 12.

It may be able to, but I don't know if the FreeNAS installer is smart enough to include a BIOS boot partition on a GPT boot disk, in order for the BIOS to get from the protective MBR to a 2nd stage bootloader, which can then hook to gptzfsboot.
