Thanks for this info. The problem is that none of the Intel devices are available anywhere. That's why I'm looking for a substitute solution. The Intel DC P3700 is pretty good and can be had in the PCIe card version for reasonable prices. If you can use the U.2 form factor, though, nothing comes close to the Optane 900p...it's only about 2x the cost of the P3700, and gives you enough extra performance to be worth it. If you have to have a PCIe card, though, you can't really find a 900p for less than 3x the cost of the P3700, and that might not be worth it.
Yes, I saw the RMS-200 on ebay and will do some research/due diligence on them. Thank you again. As far as I am aware the only real substitute for Optane is the RMS-200 or RMS-300 line from radian memory systems.
There are some on ebay
Thanks, the problem is the counterfeit potential on items originating from that region.Optane Available
I imagine they would ship to the US
Thanks! If you can find them, Micron makes a 16 and 32GB NVDIMM.
You'll also need a compatible motherboard and the necessary backup supercapacitor (PowerGEM I think they call it?) in order to actually get the "NV" part of NVDIMM.If you can find them, Micron makes a 16 and 32GB NVDIMM.
I'm using Dell R420, 2xE2470V2, 4x4TB HDD, 72GB ram, H310 (IT), and Crucial SSD boot. Just need to sort out the SLOG. I plan to use this build as my NVR. I'm leaning toward the RMS-200 based on what I've read on this forum. You'll also need a compatible motherboard and the necessary backup supercapacitor (PowerGEM I think they call it?) in order to actually get the "NV" part of NVDIMM.
@PIC_1996 what region are you trying to purchase from? Optane devices are still in distributor channels and should be generally available.
Yes, correct.Remember a SLOG only effect sync writes
