State of SMB and ACLs

I’ve read release notes and I’m not clear what state SMB and ACLs are in for SCALE 21.02.

SMB and Posix 1e are in
NFSv4 ACLs are not, yet

What does that mean for SMB shares towards Windows machines?

What does that mean for datasets that were created on Core and have ACLs applied?

What’s the status of “Microsoft users” in SCALE, the mapping of email address to username that Core does?

Thanks!

NFSv4 ACL's not being in means that those settings (if used on core/enterprise) won't transfer over to SCALE and be recognized just yet. This work requires a patch to the Linux kernel, which we are testing internally now, and will be using to nightly images here soon.

Unsure on the Mapping of email addresses, I believe that was working same as CORE does right now, but better question for @anodos

I'm still not clear what "those settings" are, but I'll just assume that's the ACLs, "Share Type SMB" when creating a dataset.

Thank you. I'll hang loose until that's in. 21.04 maybe.
