SSH to user home directory?

Hi!
I able to ssh to root of my nas but how do you SSH to a specified user and directory? I want to get to a specified directory direct when i ssh the nas without having acces to other files on the system. It does not help that the selected user has a specified path in the user setup.

SSH by default will log the user on in their home directory, providing said user has a home directory specified and has permission to access it.

When i use the command sftp:// in Kodi (to add media files)i end up in the root of the nas. I want to specify a directory.

sftp allows the directory to be specified as part of the command. It's been years since I had to do that, so I won't guess at the required syntax. man sftp has the gory details.

scp and rsync are another options.

If you're just doing sftp, you might want to look into setting up an sftp chroot.
