So, there is a broken memory stick, so we are stuck with 48GB instead of the 64GB.

For your interest's here is our config:

MB: Supermicro X11SSH-CTF
CPU: Intel Xeon E3-1245 V5 (3.5ghz)
Memory: 4x Kingston 16GB ECC (KVR21E15D8/16)
HDD: to be determined likely 8x4TB something :)


Just installed FreeNAS-9.10-STABLE-201604111739 (896cc83) and the 10GBit nics work like charm :) Now doing some speed tests to look at the performance, but i have a no other system with 10GBit nic's.....

Can you send me your complete build list? I'm also getting the X11SSH-CTF. I already have the processor, the case, the RAM and the hard drive. I just need to know what you used for fans and the breakout cables you used to connect your drives. I have 12 2-TB drives I need to connect using both the SAS ports and the SATA ones.

Is there a RAM guide for the X11 boards, similar to the X10 RAM Recommendations? I found the Super Micro RAM compatibility page here, but can't seem to find these model numbers in stock anywhere.

None of them? At all? If that's the case, try buying directly from Crucial, since you'll get Micron parts.

RAM is pricey, but I think I have paid less than that.

I choose Crucial (they have some wizard to tell you exactly what RAM is compatible for your mobo - mine is X11SSH-CTF) for a 2x16Go DDR4 ECC Unbuffered 2400 CL17 kit (CT7982805) and it cost me $520 (with taxe and shipment).

Further X11 clarification

Since there are now X11 server boards using the C24x PCH, I added a clarification explaining this and which CPUs are supported.
