smartd deamon not starting

Good evening, i'm trying to troubleshoot why i cant seem to get S.M.A.R.T. running. It's complains the service is not started.

I'm running FreeNAS 9.2.1.2 Release

Look at the logs i get the following errors...

Mar 13 00:20:10 nas notifier: Starting smartd.
Mar 13 00:20:10 nas smartd[9223]: Configuration file /usr/local/etc/smartd.conf parsed but has no entries (like /dev/hda)
Mar 13 00:20:10 nas root: /usr/local/etc/rc.d/smartd: WARNING: failed to start smartd
Mar 13 00:20:10 nas notifier: /usr/local/etc/rc.d/smartd: WARNING: failed to start smartd
Mar 13 00:21:18 nas notifier: smartd not running? (check /var/run/smartd.pid).
Mar 13 00:21:18 nas notifier: Will not 'restart' smartd because smartd_enable is NO.

If i try to start smartd manually it gives the error that smartd_enable is NO.

I'm thankful for any advice. Thanks.

Yes I have created volumes and all disk are part of a vdevs.

Have you created any smart tests? If so, and you're getting this error, I have no idea why. Anything else related in /var/log/messages?

Thanks for you help... I got frustrated and just cleared the configurations and in the process of rebuilding it now. It seems to be working properly now.
