This is my first time dealing with a smart error. I did research the forum, and started to go through the process in the 'Hard Drive Troubleshooting Guide' My long self test completed in roughly 3 minutes instead of 521 minutes.

I do have a drive available that has been tested and burned in. The drive that is showing the error is still under warranty.

Do I need to simply go through the process and replace this drive, and send in the drive showing the error for replacement ? Or, is there a way to fix this error?

Thanks :)

Output of smartctl -a

Code:
root@freenas:~ # smartctl -a /dev/ada2

It is time to swap that spare in and send this drive in for warranty replacement. It failed three self tests with a read fault.
Or, is there a way to fix this error?
No, this is a mechanical error internal to the drive. No fixing it.
