Hi,

i have read the Hard Drive Troubleshooting Guide (All Versions of FreeNAS) and determine that 1 of my HDD would be failed for RMA purposes, however the warranty expire just a year ago. I want to know if with the 6 Currently unreadable (pending) sectors it is imperative to buy another HDD now or i can wait longer to stretch a little bit extra life of this HDD.

Any time I've seen the raw_read_error_rate hit double-digits on a WD drive* they've been very close to failing catastrophically. Yours is almost a four-digit value.
If you really want to gamble and wait on a RaidZ1 that is about to lose a drive, that's your call. I wouldn't.

* Note: I said on WD drives because Seagate drives all have large values here, and for them it's normal.

ok thank you @subhuman and @Jailer to confirm my doubt the wording about RMA made me less sure that if it wasn't a warranty question it was also failed in the sense of imminent loosing of data

Allow me to one small remark regarding you SMART schedule. You are running SMART tests, good.
But you are running the short tests every hour. Are you also running long tests?
If you do so, you are running the short ones so often, you can't see the results of the long tests anymore.
I'm running a schedule of 3 short tests a day Mon-Sat and a long test on Sunday, which allows me to
see at least one long test in the self test log.

actually i didn't realize it was set to hourly in the gui it was a custom setting which i don't recall at all ever set like that. when i started to do smart test it was already at this setting (or i did not notice changing it) and i just select all disk for the test.

i have now change the test to daily at midnight and the long test daily at 3:00AM so it should be good now

thanks again for brinning that to my attention
