I set up a core 2 quad machine on a ABIT Quad GT motherboard with five 2TB drives and gigabit eithernet on a gigabit network. The highest upload speeds I have seen has been 768KB/s with the norm being 512KB/s. With the amount of data that I have to upload this will take forever. I wanted to hook up the USB drives to move the data to the ZFS storage but did not see a way to do this, please let me know if this is possible and I have just overlooked how to do this. Any thoughts how to speed up the network troughput?
