I had completed set up FreeNAS with Emby plugin. The only problem is my transfer rate between my computer and server. M2N-SLI is my server motherboard, and I think it said gigabit from the link. I used Powerline adapter (ZyXEL 600mbps) in my small home network, but the speed never go above 6mbps. I had also disable auto-tuning, and LOS in my computer. Please help me make this faster.

Can you directly connect the two machines together with an ethernet cable and retest? This can help point you in the direction of hardware/software or network infrastructure.

Once connect. How do I transfer file from the two? Do I still use the same IP? Sorry I am new to home server.

You are using a desktop motherboard with a non-server class NIC.
Specs on the link you provided show;

LAN: NVIDIA nForce® 560 SLI™ MCP built-in Gigabit MAC with external PHY
Support TCP/IP Acceleration

In order to get anywhere close to saturating a gigabit network with FreeNAS,
you will need Intel NICs (at BOTH ends).

I personally started with a simular motherboard and can attest to the very poor
network performance of the nForce controller.

So what should I do? Should I buy a LAN network adapter for that motherboard?

If you installed something like his (to fit in your mobo) AND your client computer was equipped likewise, you should see an increase
in transfer speeds. How much faster is hard to say due to other hardware factors that can effect performance.

That motherboard already has an Intel NIC in it.

because it's a PCI-express network adapter?

Yes. and Yes.

How is this 3 items i'm about to buy to help increase the transfer speed.

Go Intel on the nic. I know nothing about the switch, but the cables are over priced

I agree with @pirateghost, Intel is only a few more bucks and is well supported in the BSD world.

Buy your cables from monoprice.com they offer much better prices.

Of course, that's if you're sending regular data packets. If you're sending audio packets I wouldn't spend any less than $500 per diamond-embedded cable.

It comes with a special guarantee. Your bank account will be noticeably lighter or your money back!

Also, Cat 7. What do you mean, that's just a bullshit name for S/FTP Cat 6a cable? It can do 10GbE for 100m runs! Oh, wait, so does Cat 6a. But 40GbE - oh wait, that will require Cat 8...
