I have a very weird situation. Current setup is 2008 Server R2 X64 Datacenter for the iSCSI initiator using Broadcom BCM5709C. FreeNAS v 8.0.2 Release-i386 (8288) on Dell Poweredge R210 with Perc 6i with 2x 2TB drives in jbod and FreeNAS installed on flash drive. Setup zvol and extent and connected to target via 2008 iSCSI and made Y:\ drive. The 2 boxes are connected directly with a patch cat6 (no switch in between). Writing to this drive, from a local drive in 2008 server yields about 400Mbps but copying from yields a very sad 2.6-4 Mbps. I have also tested this with another FreeNAS box with same version but completely different networking setup and see the exact same issure, so it must be something with the MS junk.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks.

I'm having a similar problem, I can write at about 30 megabytes per second with samba and 60 megabytes with afp/nfs but reading from either maxes out at 10 megabytes p/s!
I'm thinking it's a zfs/zil cache issue maybe but no real idea as I am fairly new to zfs and bsd
